John Bixby
Director of Bands
Mr. John Bixby, has been teaching high school for over eleven years. He holds a B.S. degree in Music Education from The University of Illinois and a M.M. degree in Conducting from The University of Miami. He is currently the director of the wind ensemble, symphonic winds, marching band, and teaches music theory and keyboard at Miami Killian Senior High School. Mr. Bixby taught at Normal Community West High School, Normal Community High School, Danville High School, and The University of Miami and was on the staff of The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps prior to his appointment at Miami Killian Senior High School. He has received the National Band Association’s “Citation of Excellence” and the Percussive Arts Society’s “Citation of Excellence.”
Eduardo Delgado Assistant Director
Mr. Eduardo Delgado, has been teaching at Miami Killian Senior High School for the past 4 years. He holds a B.M. in Music Performance from Florida State University and is currently pursuing a M.M. in Arts Presenting from The University of Miami. He is currently composer/music caption head of the Miami Killian Marching Cougar Band. Aside from teaching, Eduardo Delgado remains active in performing. For all his endeavors, and being a recipient of the Bands of America, Eduardo was endowed by Yamaha Corporations as principal clarinetist in 2005. In 2008 he received a full grant to study/perform in Florence, Italy under the direction of Dario Goracci. He has received clarinet lessons and master classes from Dr. Deborah Bish, Dr. Frank Kowalsky, Mr. Dario Goracci, and Grammy Award winner Richard Stoltzman.
